Our group here at Windsor Park FX includes a lot of traders and non-traders that wanted better results.  Since 2004, we have delivered ongoing education as well as progressively better software that our members can use to let their computer trade while they're at work, or with the kids, or out with friends.

How many Smart Trader demos can I run?

Feel free to run multiple demos.  The brokers don't limit you, and neither do we.  As you open multiple demo accounts, we suggest you do the following: 
  • Follow the setup instructions (emailed to you when you sign-up for the Smart Trader demo).  In the past, you may have set up other MetaTrader 4 software, but save yourself some time and read the setup instructions.  Take special care when following the step to add a code or nickname to the broker's MT4 software (c:\...\broker 01, or broker 02, etc.).  Without that code at the end, Windows will overwrite that account's trading data the next time you install MT4. 
  • Set up at least one of your demo accounts exactly the way we suggest.  That way, you'll have a baseline to compare your results with ours. 
  • If you'd like, feel free to set up other demo accounts with different settings (different lots, stop %, # orders/pair, conservative True or False etc.). 

Smart Trader 6.0 Options and Settings

Released in April 2013 for members, and then in May 2013 for all of the "not-a-member-yet traders".  
  • Smart Trader 6.0 places trades for twice as many pips as our previous versions.
  • Smart Trader 6.0 will stop placing new trades on a pair after one stop, to minimize loss.  After the market has returned to normal, you can resume trading on the pair.
  • The full documentation is in the setup instructions you'll receive via email.
  • Smart Trader places a few trades, every couple of days, whenever it calculates a good trading opportunity.
  • Once you install Smart Trader on a demo account correctly, you might not see trades for 24-48 hours; this is normal. 

Smart Trader 6.0 adjustable options 
  • With Smart Trader, you may trade a single pair, or multiple pairs.  As you can see from our trading results page, our members are trading the GBPCAD, AUDNZD, EURJPY, EURGBP.  Using Smart Trader, these four pairs provide consistent results almost every month, year after year.
  • Lot Size is not restricted (you may be as risky or conservative as you like, but we suggest 0.10 per $10,000). 
  • Progressive Lots (when set to True), will override any number you put in the lot size box.  Progressive lots will change the traded lot size according to the account equity (0.09 for $9,000, 0.10 for $10,000, 0.11 for $11,000, etc). 
  • Stop Loss Percentage is calculated as a percentage of any particular pair's average daily range (ADR).  So, a stop loss setting of 200% means the market would have to go two full days in the wrong direction before you incurred a loss.  The stop loss setting of 200% is not meant for seasoned forex traders.  Seasoned forex traders can handle using the same settings our members use (click here for that info).  Those settings include shorter stop losses for certain pairs (updated monthly, but sometimes no adjustment is necessary).  Effectively, when using the shorter stops (shorter than 200% ADR), you'll hit them more often but the loss won't hurt as much.
  • Stop Loss Points is calculated in micropips.  So to set a 50 pip stop, you should type in 500 as the setting (500 micropips = 50 pips).  You are free to test multiple stop loss settings, and while you are running multiple demos, we suggest taking a look at this data.
  • Max Orders controls how many total orders may be traded on a particular pair.  For most pairs, there is really no need to set this higher than 3 or 4. 
  • Conservative set to True will take fewer total trades than when it is set to False.  Also, Conservative True is less likely to hit stop losses.  Because of the shorter drawdown length, most of our members choose to leave it set to True. 
  • Instant Orders is a remnant of the past when some brokers required this option.  Since most brokers no longer require Instant Orders, our members leave it set to False. 
  • Magic Numbers allow the Smart Trader software to see how many different charts you are trading.  You may put in any number here, as long as it is different for each chart.  We suggest 101, 102, 103, etc.

  • Or, Stop Loss Points: determine your own stop in micropips
  • 3 maximum orders per pair
  • Conservative set to True
  • Instant orders set to False
  • Each pair must have a different Magic Number (101, 102, 103, 104).

FAQ's

How much does a Windsor Park membership cost (including ongoing education, manual trading training, tech support, customer service, and the ability to use Smart Trader on my live account?
  • Just like a gym, we have a membership fee and monthly dues (we do not require 1 or 2 year contracts). 
Two prices to choose from, you get the same membership benefits for each!
  • Gold Membership: One-time, Lifetime membership fee of $3,000 with monthly dues, $195 per month.  
Or, for all the same membership benefits, you can choose:
  • Silver Membership: a monthly plan and only pay $395 per month with a $0 membership fee.
Will Smart Trader make enough profit to justify joining as a member?
  • Yep.  But you should run a demo on your own computer until you convince yourself. 
How long can I run the Free demo version of Smart Trader?
  • Smart Trader 6.0 is available to use on your demo accounts for FREE, for as long as you need to decide to join.  Before our current members joined, they ran demos for about 2 weeks to 3 months on average. That was enough for them to decide that they wanted to join Windsor Park, and start seeing those same great results on their live accounts!
Is this demo version of Smart Trader slimmed down, or limited in any way? 
  • Smart Trader is not slimmed down for the demo.  It is the full version of software that you'll use on your live account once you're a member.
